PNRPU scientists returned from conference in Kazakhstan

From 5 till 6 of August in Astana (Republic of Kazakhstan) the Eighth Asian Conference for Young Engineers-Geotechnics «Geotechnics tasks and innovations» took place under the aegis of International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE). In the work of conference participated Head of PNRPU Chair «Civil engineering and geotechnics» professor, Doctor of Technical Sciences Ponomarev A.B. and assistant of the Chair Sazonova S.A.
 

The aim of the conference is to organize an interactive platform for young engineers-geotechnics of the Asian region and strengthen cooperation between foreign and Kazakhstan specialists in the area of innovations in geotechnics.
 

The organizers of the conference are L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University and Nazarbaev University.
 

The conference is organized traditionally every four years: the previous conference has taken place in 2012, in city Tokushima, the first – in 1991, in Bangkok.
 

In the conference participated professors, students, young specialists from South Korea, Japan, Russia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, USA, India, Singapore, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Nepal, Belarus, Pakistan, German and other countries.
 

PNRPU was presented by the following reports:
 

- Sychkina E.N., Ponomarev A.B. «Analyze of piles foundations behavior on modern and ancient soft seats»;
 

- Grishina A.S., Ponomarev A.B. «Numerical modeling of back wall work with fibre-reinforced sand counterfill»;
 

- Sazonova S.A., Ponomaev A.B. «Using of express method to define module of filled soil deformation».
 

All articles above are included into the collection of conference articles which will be registered in the international citation base «Scopus» (database containing citation for academic journal articles).
 

All participants of the Eighth Asian Conference for Young Engineers-Geotechnics shared experiences with each other. Upon conference outcomes they indentified the possibilities of further cooperation in civil engineering, education and science.
