Master students of PNRPU Department of Environmental Protection got the unique opportunity to know about experience of one of the leading European economies in sustainable wastes and resources management straight from the horse`s moth.
Christoph Wuensch, Doctor of Sciences, researcher of Technical University of Dresden led the master-class on «Circular economy and waste management». The master-class was led under the cooperation between PNRPU and Technical University of Dresden.
From December 2012 till December 2015 Dr. Wuensch together with PNRPU researchers (Department of Environmental Protection) participated in the international scientific research group under realization of the scientific project realized with the support of the Ministry of education and science of Perm krai.
During the master-class Dr. Wuensch talked about the actual model of economy development, so called economy of closed cycle. This conception isn`t popular in Russia yet, but some world leading industrial companies such as «Rollse-Royce», «Toyota», «Philips», «Caterpillar» have already organized its work on the circular economy principles.
Also Dr. Wuensch spoke about prerequisites for formation of closed cycle economy conception as alternative of traditional linear economics, EU program on circular economy implementation, methods of practical realization of circular economy, implementation examples of closed cycle conception on company level.
The master class was held in English. Lectures by Dr. Wuensch arose great interest, audience asked a lot of questions and each lecture was ended with discussion.
More than 40 teachers and master students of the Department of Environmental Protection attended lectures of Dr. Wuensch.
Upon lectures end, Dr. Wuensch will get a secondary job as an Associate Professor at the Department of Environmental Protection under the realization of PNRPU development program. Therefore, students of the Department of Environmental Protection will be able to get new unique knowledge from the German researcher further under planned lectures, webinars and writing of graduation projects.
