On the website of the Institute for Technology Assessment and Systems Analysis (ITAS) at the Institute of Technology of Karlsruhe (Germany) the report on a joint Russian-German workshop “Technology assessment in Changing times: Challenge of Interdisciplinarity and Internationality” was issued. The workshop was held on 14 November, 2016.
The large Russian delegation from Perm National Research Polytechnic University headed by professor V. Zhelezniak (Head of the Department of Philosophy) and professor L. Rudakova (Head of the Department of Environmental Protection) and from Tomsk Polytechnic University came in Karlsruhe to take part in this event. The concept of the program was developed by Dr. E. Seredkina, the Head of Scientific Research Laboratory RRI_Lab (Perm), who currently undertakes the scientific internship at ITAS as a DAAD scholar with support of ITAS Director - professor A. Grunwald. Professor Grunwald in his welcoming speech noted progress in the development of Russian TA-Network supported by Ural and Siberia regions.
At the conference special development aspects of the Russian TA model with reference to national challenges were discussed (report by Dr. Seredkina). Prof. L. Rudakova and G. Arzamasova reported about the cooperation with Ural enterprises and stakeholders in the field of environment and sustainable development. The great attention was paid to issues of translating the key TA/RRI terms into Russian language (report by professor V. Zhelezniak, Dr. E. Seredkina). The further discussion of the ideas and methods of Technology Assessment between Russian and German scientists will continue in Perm (Russia) under the international conferences “Image of the Engineer in XXI Century: Technology Assessment and Sustainable development”, which will take place at PNRPU on 6-8 December, 2016.
