Target of the programme:
training of all-round specialists in the field of ecological problems of productions and metropolises from the standpoint of modern biotechnology, purification and remediation of ambient natural objects by biotechnological and complex chemical and biological methods.
Programme characteristics:
involves mastering of quickly developing methods of solving environmental problems and waste processing with the use of living organisms and systems, remediation of environmental objects damaged by technogenic actions, determination of techniques for replacing packing materials and home appliances with quickly decomposing polymers, expansion of the range of “environmentally friendly” construction materials and detergents, and stimulation of interest in “green” technologies.
The programme gives prominence to pro-active training in resources and energy saving in the field of processing of municipal and domestic waste, change to renewable sources of raw materials, technologies of complete processing of biomass, incidental production of energy source materials (biogas, pellets, etc.) and recovery of low potential energy and carbon dioxide effluents in technologies of biomass cultivation.
The programme provides participation of students in research work throughout the period of study, systematic work with information sources, including periodic English publications and reports at conferences based on the results of research work.
