On July 6th, 2013 at the Vladimir Potanin Foundation Summer School, awards were given to the best student volunteer projects. There were 350 student participants from 27 leading universities in the country. Student teams presented their projects in the following areas:
• «socially oriented activities»;
• «students’ scientific societies and development of professional skills»;
• «students’ life and self-government».
Development and implementation of such projects gives participants of the School new knowledge and helps to develop skills in handing real social problems.
Students from our University presented their project "A Step to Freedom". According to voting results, those involved in the area of "Socially oriented activities" were chosen as winners. The objective of project is social adaptation of physically handicapped persons through establishment of sports clubs. The team received grants from the Foundation for implementation of the project.
The grant fund of the School is 1 million rubles, and the grant is over 200 thousand rubles.
Winners were chosen by an expert jury, whose members watched over project preparation throughout the School. This year the expert jury consisted of the employees of the Foundation, team couches and business couches, representatives of well-known companies, winners of On-line Lecturers Contest and authors of the best projected previously implemented.
It is the opinion of Larisa Zelkova, General Director of the Vladimir Potanin Charity Foundation, that all projects must help students to realize that both today's and future life in great part depends on their active attitude to what is happening to them.
We congratulate our students on their victory and wish them continued success in all their endeavors!
The volunteer project presented by the Perm Polytechnic University gained a victory at the V. Potanin Foundation Summer School.
