The Vladimir Potanin Foundation Supports Talented Masters and Their Teachers

Traditionally the Day of Knowledge is not only the beginning of a new academic year but also the start of educational grant-making projects. On September 2, 2013, the Vladimir Potanin Foundation announced a new Scholarship Programme. Its target is to support talented Master students and teachers, improve their leadership skills, widen opportunities for professional and personal development, as a result, assist in raising the quality of Russian higher education.

The Scholarship programme consists of:
*Scholarship contest for students of the first and second year of the Master course from the universities participating in the programme”. In 2013/14 300 Master winners will get the scholarship which amount to 15 000 rubles per month till the end of the Master course.
There is also a grant for teachers of Master programmes from the universities taking part in the programme. Finally, 50 grants will be provided. The maximal amount is 500 000 rubles.
*Schools of the foundation: all the scholarship holders and grantees of the current year will be participants of it. The School programme is aimed at project and communication skills development. Within the School, volunteer projects will also be developed; they will be funded too. The grant fund of the School is 2 000 000 rubles.
Main dates of the programme:
September 9, 2013 - announcement of universities taking part in the scholarship programme.
September 15 - December 1, 2013 (until and including this date) - collecting applications for the scholarship tender.
February 2014 - results announcement of the scholarship contest.
February 1 - April 1, 2014 (until and including this date) - collecting applications for the grant contest.

July 2014 will be the start of the foundation School itself.
