Out of more than 300 applications only 25 programmes from different countries have been selected: Australia, Nigeria, Turkey, Poland, the USA, Portugal, Brazil, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Russia and Italy.
After the selection process two representatives of PNRPU have been selected for the YPPs: Ekaterina Meltsova, a second-year Master’s student, and Ekaterina Starodubtseva, Assistant at Architecture and Urban Studies Department.
YPP Seminars are held at ISOCARP since 1991 with the target to gether all young professional city planners from all over the world and have a good chance to work as a team on a short-term. Every seminar has its own subjects which are important for the place of the Congress and they are connected to the main topic of it.
In 2012 ISOCARP Congress took place in Perm, in 2013 – in Brisbane, Australia. The topic of 2013 – is Planning horizons: evolution and significance of planning models.
Four teams proposed their own concepts of wharve development with abandoned historical warehouses and presented their posters.
The work supervisors Sofia Murgado and Zainep Gunai gave a final presentation at ISOCARP Congress on October 1st.
ISOCARP Vice-President emphasized that the participants acted as a team and produced high level international projects – Professor Piotr Lorens of Politechnika Gda?ska.
All the participants of YPPs traditionally take part in ISOCARP Congress and in the poster contest too. This year the winners were: Shan He from China and Arif Chokhan from Nigeria.
