Six small innovative enterprises from Perm national research polytechnic university together with representatives of the Lobachevsky State University of Nizhny Novgorod participated in the second round of the US-Russia innovations corridor.
In the period from 21 April to 2 May representatives of six companies operating in the field of biotechnology and IT became residents of the Maryland International Incubator. They can now look for business partners and potential customers in the United States.
In the first week company representatives had an opportunity to consult with American experts on the opening of subsidiaries in the United States, registration of products in the U.S. market and intellectual property rights.
Additionally innovators from Perm and Nizhny Novgorod met with representatives of the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development (DBED) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
The second week was devoted to establishing business contacts with companies and organizations of Maryland working in the field of bio and information technologies.
Representatives of Russian small innovative enterprises visited Accelerator 1776, Medtronic and the BioHealthInnovation business incubator where they were given an opportunity to present their projects in front of experienced professionals in the field of technology commercialization and get their useful recommendations.
The PNRPU and UNN delegation also met with representatives of the US-Russia business council, the AbbotLaboratories and held a videoconference with Johnson & Johnson Innovation. One of the important events of the second week was also a visit to the BioMaryland center of biotechnology where the companies were granted temporary access to a Frost & Sullivan market research database.
