On August 12 vice-rector for education of Perm National Research Polytechnic University Nikolai Shevelev took part in one of the most popular programmes of Perm TV called "The Evening Guest".
For several minutes the vice-rector answered live questions concerning the 2014 enrollement campaign. According to him the competence level of applicants who enrolled into state-funded places at PNRPU this year remained quite high and for a number of technical specialties has grown significantly.
The vice-rector also spoke about the quality of education at the University. It is well-known that any potential entrant is faced with such an issue as the minimum passing score on the Unified National Exam. Rosobrnadzor (the Federal Education and Science Supervision Service) annually announces the minimum passing scores for all subjects, however the universities have the right to increase them in accordance with the specifics of the particular institution. For the only technical university in Perm krai the level of training is very important, therefore in many areas of training in PNRPU exam scores were significantly higher than those announced by Rosobrnadzor.
