Competition for grants for academic mobility of young scientists is announced

Competition for grants for academic mobility of young scientists has been announced.The deadline is September 30, 2014.

The competition is organised by the British Council.

Within the Researcher Links project in the year 2015 the British Council will provide grants for academic mobility of young scientists from 19 countries, including Russia. The grant for Russians includes financial support for the trip of young scientists to the UK for no longer than three months.

The purpose of the trip is to establish new scientific links between researchers and research groups or to significantly expand and strengthen existing contacts, as well as to realise the career potential of young scientists.

The maximum grant amount for Russian scientists is 6695 pounds.The grant is intended for the following expenses: travel, accommodation, per diem, visa, insurance, consumables (up to 250 pounds sterling). The trip to the UK must be made before the end of March 2016.

Requirements for participants:

Grant applications may be submitted by young researchers who received their PhD not earlier than 2004.
Applicants must be officially employed by the University or research centre.
Representatives of all disciplines can participate in the competition.
There are no age restrictions.
Applications for travel to universities or research organizations in which the candidate has previously worked or taught are not accepted.
Applications from candidates who have won this grant in 2014 are not accepted.
