University of Nebraska and PNRPU are twinned

In early October PNRPU delegation visited the University of Nebraska, (USA) specifically its Omaha and Lincoln campuses.This visit was one of the key events for PNRPU within the "programme for promotion of Russian language and education in Russian with the support of the Council of the Russian language of the Government of the Russian Federation".

PNRPU delegation included the vice-rector for education N.A. Shevelev, dean of the Faculty of humanities V.P. Mokhov, head of the foreign languages, linguistics and translation department E.V. Alikina, and assistant professor of the foreign languages, linguistics and translation department A.V. Novikova.

During the visit discussions were held as well as meetings with and presentations by representatives of faculties and departments of the University of Nebraska. It was agreed to work together on joint research and educational projects.University of Nebraska, Lincoln is already accepting applications for the Summer School of Russian language and culture, which is organized by the foreign languages, linguistics and translation department and International office of PNRPU, and in September 2015 a number of American students are expected to go on a semester-long internship to PNRPU. In accordance with the approved plan of activities representatives of the foreign languages, linguistics and translation department held a series of workshops and interactive games on Russian language for students and teachers of the University of Nebraska.

The visit culminated in the signing of a Cooperation Agreement that twins the two universities and opens interesting perspectives for the development of academic mobility.
