Dear colleagues!
We invite you to take part in the Second International scientific and practical conference "Image of an engineer in the XXI century: technology assessment and sustainable development" which will be held on December 6-8, 2016 at the Department of Philosophy and Law, Perm National Research Polytechnic University.
The objective of the conference: studying German experience in the field of technology assessment (TA) / responsible research and innovation (RRI); discussing the problems of synthesizing humanities and techniques in modern engineering education; developing methodology for social assessment of technology projects.
At the conference it is planned to consider the following issues:
• technology assessment: view from Russia and Germany;
• epistemological background of modern scientific and technical knowledge;
• technology projects of the future and sustainable development;
• technology metaphysics;
• challenges of interdisciplinarity and internationality in TA studies;
• responsible research and innovation in civil society;
• social assessment of innovation projects (cases in fields of nanobiotechnology, ecology, "green economy", robotics, “Industry 4.0”, makerspace etc.).
On the basis of the conference materials it is planned to develop theoretical and applied aspects of humanities and social expertise of engineering projects as a compulsory module in the course of "Philosophical problems of science and technology" for undergraduates and graduate students of engineering specialties. After the conference a collection of scientific articles and reports will be published.
