Enterprisers from the company Robot control technologies, PNRPU alumnus, created the innovative environment Robot Control Meta Language (RCML) which allows robots and robotics systems of different producers intercommunicate effectively. In perspective the development will give the opportunity to extend sphere of use of industrial robots at Russian production companies.
Today no one large modern production can go without industrial robots which are widely used in the processes of welding, products replacement, processing, painting, arrangement and so on. The total number of industrial robots in the world exceeds 1.3 millions. According to the Boston Consulting Group forecast, by the year 2025 the percent of tasks solving by robots will reach 26%.
The Russian share in the world volume of robot using is currently less than 1% and robotics density is 2 robots for 10 000 employees. This happens because of obsolescence of technological processes at Russian production that are to be modernized. The main problems are lack of knowledge about robotics possibilities , difficulties in compatibility and coordination of a robotic complex components, the need to program each robot separately, software deficit for designing, a weak study infrastructure etc.
RCML – is a language developed by Perm innovators that allows a specialist to set robot intercommunication under the specified algorithm regardless of technical skills. To do this the special manual describing basic elements of the new programming language, examples of using and solving of robotics programming tasks was developed. As for robots, they are programming automatically on the base of a current set of tasks, their priorities and a situation in a derivative cell.
The main goal of developers is to make installation process and arrangement of software work as easy as possible and «make friends» robots performing different kinds of tasks. This will allow business to lower costs of hardware and software implementing, since at high-accuracy production and projects involving implementation of robots, software cost can reach 60% of a project cost.
Currently the project is ready: value proposition is acknowledged, exploitation availability of the language is proved. Japanese producers of FANUC industrial robots are already interested in the development as well as German partners in the field of assembly automation and cooperation of robot groups. To expand the range of potential customers, the developers have decided to participate in GenerationS – the largest in Russia and Eastern Europe accelerator for technological projects. The team has already successfully passed the primary selection and become a member of the corporate track TechNet, industrial partner of which is NPO «Saturn».
