Every year on February 8, the scientific community celebrates the Day of Russian Science. Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation of Perm Tech Vladimir Korotaev congratulated his colleagues on their professional holiday and pointed out why the university is the center of fundamental and applied science of Perm Krai and one of the leading engineering university in Russia.
Perm Tech academic staff trains specialists with a high level of scientific base. After graduation, a significant percentage of graduates continue working on the departments, developing and enhancing the scientific potential of the university. There are 498 young scientists of Perm Tech today who are mastering the third level of higher education. Moreover, 150 of them, and this is the majority, are studying at the aerospace engineering faculty. Today there are more than 200 doctors of science and 700 candidates of science working at Perm Tech.
The University is the scientific center of Perm Krai, and when it comes to science one means both fundamental and applied one, which is especially valuable. Students of Perm Tech are involved in research process from the first year of their studying. This day is important both for freshmen and our honorable and outstanding scientists.
The university is successful due to the achievements of scientists. For instance, Perm Tech academic staff makes a significant contribution to the one of the first world-class scientific and educational center “Sustainable subsurface management” developed on Perm Krai territory.
