Trucks are often stacked up when there is an unfavorable haul road conditions. Accidents occur, among other things, due to the low coefficient of gripping.

Perm Tech young scientists are creating an installation that will help to cope with this problem! The development will provide better wheel grip on slippery roads.

— "Sandblasting" is quite well-known: it is used in various fields - from rust removal to artistic surface treatment. But this method has not yet been used to improve the grip of the wheels of trucks on slippery road surfaces. Therefore, we have developed a system based on a sandblasting machine that receives information about the condition of the road from the built-in sensors of a car and sends signals for the supply of marble chips, — says Vladislav Chudinov who is the author of the project and a postgraduate student of the of Cars and Technological Machines Department.

Comparing with analogs, the new device is more efficient, responsive and reliable. The installation is versatile and easy to operate, it can be controlled from the car cab.
