Design and Numerical Simulations

The laboratory performs design and multi-scale numerical modeling of structures and devices with complex shape and internal structure, including the use of its own developed software products:

  • Development of mechanical metamaterials and structures on their basis.
  • Multiscale finite-element simulation of mechanical behaviour and fracture using various approaches of elastic-plastic and viscoelastic mechanics.
  • Calculation of effective mechanical properties of materials and structures taking into account internal morphology.
  • Creation of numerical finite element models based on micro-CT data.
  • Generation of the artificial models using machine learning approaches.
  • Investigation of materials with random structure based on stochastic modeling and mathematical morphology approaches.
