Programme characteristics:
present market of information communications is saturated with equipment of wide range which is for the most part imported or produced abroad with the use of localized software and technical documentation. Despite of this fact, domestic communication equipment occupies its own niche: network of state institutions, special-purpose networks (incorporated in the state systems of security, defence potential, critical objects, etc.), low budget networks, etc. The Russian developers are very experienced and primarily oriented at consideration of peculiarities and specific features of the Russian market of information communications. One of the leading domestic developers of communication equipment is OAO Morion. The company has more than a 50-year history and is recognized at the market in Russia and former Soviet republics. More than 50 % of the company divisions engaged in development, adjustment, installation and maintenance of products consists of graduates of Perm National Research Polytechnic University (former Perm State Technical University or Perm Polytechnic Institute). Because of this, joint Master’s programme is oriented at training of future leading specialists in development of new devices incorporated in the equipment being developed, organization of efficient production, measurements and certification, service maintenance of products and design of multivendor heterogeneous information communication networks with the use of the equipment to be produced. The Master’s programme is connected with Bachelor’s programme making up single process of training skilled and competent specialists in development and production of components for information communication systems. Participation of leading specialists from OAO Morion will allow graduates to acquire practical skills of work with the up-to-date equipment which will increase the efficiency of their work in future.
