PNRPU philosopher will give a lecture on social aspects of robotics at University of Tokyo!

On May 12, 2018 a series of public lectures will be given for Japanese students and scholars on social aspects of robotics at Policy Alternatives Research Institute, University of Tokyo (Japan) with the support of the Japanese Society for Artificial Intelligence. Elena Seredkina, Associate Professor of PNRPU Department of Philosophy and Law, Head of RRI_Lab, is invited as one of the key speakers to Japan with a report “Future relations between people and robots: national and global perspective”. 

On April 17-18, 2018 Professor Turchinsky, one of leading geotechnical scientists of Germany, gives master classes for students and staff at Civil Engineering Faculty of Perm National Research Polytechnic University. The visit of Professor Turchinsky takes place as part of cooperation between PNRPU and Magdeburg-Stendhal University of Applied Sciences.

On March 22 the diplomatic delegation from Switzerland headed by Mr. Yves Rossier, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Switzerland in the Russian Federation, visited PNRPU.

The meeting began with a welcome speech of Anatoly Tashkinov, PNRPU Rector, who told about the experience of cooperating with École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (Switzerland) in the framework of the "Cooperation on metabolism and diabetes," on the basis of the Scientific and Educational Center of Applied Chemical and Biological Researches operating at PNRPU.

Perm is a multinational city attracting many your people from different countries. Recently the number of foreign students living in Perm has increased by 5 times, and now Perm universities welcome almost 2 000 foreign students.

For the whole day PNRPU Student Center was an international platform for an intercultural integration. Students from more than ten countries of the world gathered together to celebrate the favorite Russian holiday which is New Year! Festival Elka-Fest got together talented students from four Perm universities, Perm National Research Polytechnic University, Perm National Research University, Perm State Medical University n.a. Academician E.A. Wagner and Institute of Culture.

It has already been for the third year that Perm National Research Polytechnic University has become one of the leaders among most in-demand engineering universities ranking of the Russian Federation, according to the Project “Social Navigator” International News Agency “Russia Today”.

PNRPU was ranked to be the 6th in the list of 127 technical universities of Russia.

The ranking criteria included such as employability, commercialization of intellectual products of the university as well as relevance of university R&D product.

On December 4-8, 2017 the delegation from Perm National Research Polytechnic University, headed by Professor Dmitri Trushnikov (Department of Science and Innovation) visited Huazhong University of Science and Technology within the international research project of the BRICS Framework Program for Scientific, Technical and Innovation Cooperation the title "Hybrid Manufacturing of Aerospace Parts: Software Modeling, Simulation, Verification and Development" (HMAero).

Maxim Masalsky, Master student of Information Technologies and Automated Systems (ITAS) under the academic supervision of Daniil Kurushin, Senior Lecturer of ITAS became the winner of the Thirteenth SCADA Championship (competition for the rapid development of the operator interface of the process control system in the SCADA system).

The Third International Scientific Conference "From Waste Management to Resource Management" was held at PNRPU on November 30th - December 1st, 2017.

The delegation from China University of Petroleum visited PNRPU on November 30th, 2017. The representatives of the partner universities gave their presentations about the scientific and academic opportunities and outlined the plan of cooperation for 2018-2019.
