A competition for the selection of research projects for grants to business companies, which are registered in Perm krai is announced. All these organizations are founded by higher education institutions or scientific organizations of Perm krai for realization of research projects by international research groups of scientists at state higher education institutions and scientific organizations of Perm krai.

Brainy Studio – a team of students of Perm National Research Polytechnic University won the Russian final of the Imagine Cup 2014, which is the world's largest annual student technology competition held with the support of Microsoft since 2003.

In accordance with the instructions of the Government of the Russian Federation the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation together with Rossotrudnichestvo created the Council of Russian language and worked out a plan to support the Russian language and to promote education in Russian.

Master`s thesis defense of PRNPU students took place on June 26. The students were studying on a double degree program, which is in place between PNRPU (Department of Microprocessor Automation Technology) and the Anhalt University of Applied Sciences (Faculty of Informatics).

The Board of Directors of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) thanked and congratulated PNRPU graduate Simon Litsyn for getting the IEEE Reynold B. Johnson Information Storage Systems Award for his outstanding contribution to the development of information storage systems.

Iraqi oil workers are studying in professional retraining programs at the PNRPU Institute of Oil and Gas. At home they work at one of the largest oilfields West Kurna-2, which has been developed by the "LUKOIL" company for the last 5 years.
